Sri Lanka will not and does not intend to impose sanctions on Russian citizens, Director General at Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Dhammika Wijayasinghe said, AzVision.az reports.
"Russian tourists are very important for tourism industry of Sri Lanka. They are among the top ten tourists in the tourism market from 2018. From 2021 to 2022, the Russians were "number one." The Russians are very brave. Even they were among the first to travel to Sri Lanka during the pandemic, " the official said.
